Jen Berger works as an interdisciplinary, community, and socially engaged artist and educator. She has lived in Burlington since 2001. Jen uses street, stage and guerilla theater, visual arts, painting, printmaking, puppetry, video for education, and dialogue to raise awareness and intervene in social issues that affect us all.
Jen also works as a teaching artist, working with students, who are in early childhood through adult-aged students. She is currently adjunct faculty at the Community College of Vermont and Champlain College, and creating community engagement opportunities through her new project ‘At the Root’.
Devin Colman is the director of the UVM Historic Preservation Program, after spending the previous 18 years with the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation as the State Architectural Historian. A graduate of the UVM Historic Preservation Program, he has lectured and taught classes at UVM for many years.
Colman is involved with historic preservation activities at the local, state, and national levels. He serves on the boards of Preservation Burlington, the New England Chapter of Docomomo-US, and the New England Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians.
Sarah Richter received her PhD in Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on the global intersections of photography, race, gender, geography, and the African Diaspora, with particular attention to contemporary visual culture and transatlantic histories.
Before joining UVM, she taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Millikin University, and Georgia Southern University, and has presented her research widely through invited lectures and conference presentations.
